The Directional Ponytail at Haryono Setiadi SS15
How To create Renya Xydis’ most talked about slick, modern hairstyle from MBFW 2015.
Blowdry your hair and flatten it with a Cloud Nine Touch.
Using a fine toothed comb, section out a one inch vertical panel of hair from the front hairline down to the nape of the neck. Comb a generous amount of Wella Sculpt Forcethrough this panel, slicking it to the head and secure it tightly with a hair elastic. You should now have two large free flowing sections of hair on either side of your head.
Using Wella Sculpt Force again, slick down these two side parts and secure to the pony tail, ensuring the bottom length of the hair is kept dry.
Take a piece of hair extension and matching it to your natural hair colour, trim it into one inch wide pieces. You will need one longer piece and two secondary shorter pieces.
Saturate all three pieces of hair with Wella Sculpt Force from top to bottom.
Align the longest of the three hair pieces with the vertical panel in your ponytail. It should reach forward onto the top of your forehead, creating a geometric shape, squared off with your hair line.
Press this piece down firmly onto your hair, making sure it is straight, smoothing it out with a fine tooth comb.
Follow the same technique with the two shorter side pieces, pressing them onto the head creating a sharp, clean line from the crown of your head to your cheekbone.
Carefully trim the ends of the hair pieces sitting on the face so that they are perfectly angled.
Ensure the hair is dry by setting it with a diffuser.
Give your hair a once over – make sure it is all smooth and secure. After all, this look is all about perfectly painted, angular panels.
